Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal

Arsenal spent so many weeks negotiating a move for Gyokeres, and at the start of the window, they worked on a move for him and Benjamin Sesko.

It soon became clear that they could not afford Sesko, and they opted for Gyokeres, but some of their fans would believe the Swede should have been their focus earlier.

Liverpool showed remarkable greed this summer when they signed Isak despite landing the red-hot Ekitike in the same transfer window.

The Frenchman has made a superb start to life at Liverpool, and we expect him to keep shining at Anfield despite the record-breaking arrival of Isak.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester City

Although they had splashed the cash to strengthen their squad in January, Manchester City still did some business in the summer transfer window.

They signed some top players, but those who buy Manchester City tickets will probably be more confident because Donnarumma is now their goalkeeper.

Ederson was fantastic for them, but James Trafford would not have done the job at such a top club, and they now have a better chance of success.

The Italian was a key player as PSG won the Champions League last season, and their decision to sell him came as a surprise, but their loss is City’s gain.

Tijjani Reijnders, Manchester City

Reijnders developed into one of the finest midfielders in Europe when he was at AC Milan.

Most people will know it was just a matter of time before he left, and he is now playing in the best league in the world.

He will struggle to replace Kevin de Bruyne, but the Dutchman arrives in England as a really fine signing to follow.

Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United

Brentford’s top scorer last season is probably the best player that Manchester United signed this summer, and we want to see if he can replicate his fine form at a bigger club.

The Cameroonian has already started life well at a very poor United team, and their fans will hope others will do well so their performance and results can improve soon.

Nick Woltemade, Newcastle

The number one reason Woltemade will be followed by many fans this season is that he has joined as a replacement for Isak.

After several strikers rejected Newcastle, they settled for him, but he is a very talented boy who can do well.

Bayern Munich spent much of the summer trying to sign him and failed, so fans who buy Newcastle United tickets have every reason to be happy about their new man.

Xavi Simons, Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal hijacked at least two Tottenham transfers during the window, and they, in turn, hijacked Chelsea’s move for Simons.

The Dutchman was close to joining the Blues and had agreed on personal terms with them for weeks, but Spurs guaranteed him game time after failing to sign a number 10 all summer.

Simons accepted, and more Tottenham tickets will be sold in the coming months because he is a terrific entertainer on the pitch.

Mohammed Kudus, Tottenham

After repeatedly being linked with a move to Arsenal, Kudus now plays for their North London rivals, and the Ghanaian is one of the players who will make Thomas Frank succeed at the London club.

Spurs now have a good manager and a fantastic squad, so we expect them to do really well in the Premier League and Europe this season.

Granit Xhaka, Sunderland

Sunderland is serious about remaining in the Premier League beyond this season, and this transfer shows their seriousness more than anything else.

Xhaka had a good spell at Arsenal before now, but it is his first season at Bayer Leverkusen that made more fans know him.

His German team won the domestic competitions unbeaten in the 2023/2024 season, and the midfielder will surely have to work hard to keep the Black Cats in the top flight beyond this term.
