The most exciting teenagers to follow in Europe this season

18/09/2024

Europe has some of the best teenage talents in the world, and the clubs around the continent are the best for talent development.

Once in a while, a stunning talent breaks out, like Lionel Messi did in Barcelona, and changes the course of football’s history.

We have also had players who have changed clubs and become world-class talents from their teenage years.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Karim Benzema are further examples of players who delivered as teenage sensations and went on to meet expectations as top players.

So many youngsters in world football are doing well now, but in this article, we will narrow our focus to some teenagers.

Lamine Yamal, Barcelona, 17

Yamal is currently the world’s most important teenager, and no player under 20 is as important as he is.

The teenager seems to be Messi’s incarnate in Barcelona, and that famous picture of the Barcelona legend bathing him in a photoshoot on a random day makes sense now.

Yamal is one of the best players we have ever seen, and his achievements at such a young age make us forget that he is still 17.

Apart from his success as a Barcelona player, the youngster has also been a hero for the Spanish national team.

He won La Liga with Barca in 2023 and Euro 2024 with Spain the following year. He was instrumental to Barcelona under Xavi and seems to be even better under Hansi Flick.

The German might be investing so much in keeping the youngster firing because that is probably one of the things he must do to achieve success this term.

Yamal has three goals and four assists in his first five La Liga games this season and seems to be getting better every week.

Barcelona tickets sell more now that Yamal is in town, and their supporters believe he could soon make them the best team in Europe.

Joao Neves, PSG, 19

Every top club in Europe wanted to sign Joao Neves from Benfica, but none of them pushed as hard as PSG did to add him to their squad.

The Frenchmen knew he was a generational talent whom they would lose if they did not focus on signing him.

Luiz Enrique was a fine midfielder when he played and knows one when he sees him, so the former Barca coach pushed for Neves.

Knowing that without Kylian Mbappe, another club could win Ligue 1 from their hands, but PSG looks safe with Neves on the pitch.

The midfielder started his time at the club with four assists from his first four league games for the Parisians, and his form will help the club sell more Paris Saint German tickets.

Leny Yoro, Manchester United, 18

Yoro was the subject of a serious transfer tug-of-war between Manchester United and Real Madrid in the last window.

The defender broke through at Lille, reminding us of Raphael Varane's breakthrough at Lens. He wanted to move to Real Madrid as well.

But selling more Manchester United tickets requires United to sign more stars and they pushed to beat Madrid to the signature of the defender.

Unfortunately, Yoro has been injured since pre-season and will be out until October,  but signing the Frenchman and other players this summer has made Manchester United one of the serious contenders for the Premier League title this season.

Kenan Yildiz, Juventus, 19

Juventus is not famous for giving youngsters at the club chances, and the Old Lady often relies on signing quality players from other clubs.

They have a B team called the Next Gen, which helps them continue developing players who are now bigger than playing for the U19 side.

However, Yildiz was also too good for the Next Gen side after a rapid rise from the U19 team, and the club recognised that he could help them sell more Juventus tickets if he was the centre of their project.

With Thiago Motta selling and sidelining some of the senior players that he met at Juve, this could be Yildiz’s time to shine.

The teenager has already become a starter on the team and has two assists from his first four Serie A games this season.

Desire Doue, PSG, 19

Another solid talent that PSG snapped up from the transfer market this summer is Doue and the Frenchman is a player every top club wishes they had signed.

The Ligue 1 side faced serious competition for his signature following his stunning season at Rennes.

Rennes if famous for developing top names like Eduardo Camavinga and Jeremy Doku, so PSG knew they were signing a well groomed player.

Doue was a part of the French U23 team that won Silver at the Olympics and will be looking to make a name for himself in their first team now.

Antonio Nusa, RB Leipzig, 19

Nusa was one of the most sought-after players in Europe last season, and several top clubs wanted to add him to their squad.

However, RB Leipzig won the race for his signature, having demonstrated over the years that they are the best team for players to join if they want to develop further before joining one of Europe’s big boys.

Nusa will sell more RB Leipzig tickets, and his development will be much faster now that he is at a club like Leipzig.

Rico Lewis, Manchester City, 19

Lewis’ emergence at Manchester City has been a problem for Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo, with the latter eventually leaving the club this summer.

Pep Guardiola is a master at developing talent, and his work with Lewis reminds us of how he groomed Joshua Kimmich at Bayern Munich.

With very limited summer signings that would make fans worry if the team is ready to retain the Premier League, Lewis is one of the players who will keep City competitive.

Man City tickets is selling fast because the youngster and his teammates have developed a winning streak, which makes them one of the best teams in Europe and England.

Lucas Bergvall, Tottenham, 18

Every top club in Europe wanted to sign Bergvall from Djurgården as he was considered arguably the biggest midfield talent Sweden has had in decades.

The midfielder was even close to moving to Barcelona, and the Catalans seemed to have won the race for his signature.

Somehow the move broke down and Tottenham snapped him up quickly. Fans who buy Tottenham tickets this season are eager to see their club’s latest acquisition and he has been in fantastic form in the cameos he has made for the club.

Supporters will focus a lot on the performance of their main summer signing Dominic Solanke, but Bergvall is a player whose performance will delight his new team.

Jack Hinshelwood, Brighton, 19

Hinshelwood is just the latest in a long list of talents who have broken through at Brighton, and he is the most exciting person to follow now.

The Seagulls like young people and even their new manager is remarkably jus 31, so it is a go-to club to sign the best young talents available on the market.

Brighton tickets is one of the best to buy this season and the proved it will be good value for money as they were one of the teams that impressed the most in the Premier League in August.

The top clubs in England are already following Hinshelwood closely and it is just a matter of time before one of them snap him up.

Conclusion

There are so many fine teenagers in Europe at the moment, but the above stars will make fans buy more tickets to watch their teams.
