It is hard to determine which position is the most important on the pitch in any game. However, everyone knows that you cannot win games if you do not score goals, so attackers are probably the most important players on every team.

Clubs invest so much in signing strikers, and the players who get the most attention are usually goalscorers.

In the last two seasons, Arsenal have challenged for the Premier League title and failed to win. Although some of their fans would argue that Arsenal does not need a striker to win the title, we can all see that it is playing out to be false.

The Gunners may not have a standard striker who can be trusted, but they are not the only club who have struggling attackers.

Liverpool has had a fantastic first half of the season, and they might win the Premier League, but they could have been in a far better place now if Darwin Nunez could score.

The Uruguayan was in red-hot form when he played for Benfica, but since he moved to Liverpool, he has struggled for consistency.

The chances he misses are such a shock to the club’s fans. With three goals in 20 matches this term, he is not good enough for Liverpool ticket holders.

Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal

Jesus joined Arsenal because of the arrival of Erling Haaland at Manchester City, and Arsenal fans were sure their team had signed one of the world’s best.

At City, he won several Premier League titles and scored some important goals, but he was never a consistent scorer.

Mikel Arteta was sure that he could bring out the best in the former Palmeiras man and signed him. However, since he joined Arsenal in 2022, Jesus has scored just 20 goals in 89 matches, 11 of which came in his first season at the club.

In 20 competitive matches this term, the Brazilian has scored just 1 goal, a shocking stat which clearly cannot sell Arsenal tickets.

Raheem Sterling, Arsenal

Sterling moved on loan to Arsenal this season as one of the summer signings who have a point to prove.

The Chelsea star is only on loan at the Emirates, and he wants to prove that he is still good enough to be at the top level.

However, he is failing so far as Arteta does not look impressed with his contributions in training and the cameos he makes.

Sterling has simply been poor, and it is hard to think he would earn a permanent move to Arsenal on his current form.

Savinho, Manchester City

Savinho was unstoppable while spending time on loan at Girona last season, and his 11 goals and 10 assists were why they qualified for the Champions League.

Because he was owned by one of their partner clubs, it was clear that Manchester City would add him to their squad.

They did just that in the summer, but the Brazilian has been underwhelming. City is on one of their worst run since Pep Guardiola became their manager, yet Savinho cannot make an impression.

He has so far proven to be all hype and little substance, which does not impress anyone who buys Manchester City tickets.

Leon Bailey, Aston Villa

Aston Villa is the latest team to struggle after qualifying for the Champions League, and it is so hard to see them break free from that curse.

However, their poor performances are related to the shocking decline in the form of most of their players, one of whom is Bailey.
