The most impressive records Erling Haaland has broken
It seems we are all living in Erling Haaland’s world after the striker bagged his 50th career Champions League goal against Napoli.
It was his seventh competitive game of the season for club and country, but that was his 12th goal of the campaign. Will this be another year where he wins the Premier League and Champions League’s Golden Boot?
There is little doubt that Haaland makes Manchester City a much stronger team when he is on the pitch, and he has taken his game to the next level this season.
The striker is one of the best players in the world, but that even seems to be an understatement because many times, he delivers performances that make it seem like he is an alien.
Haaland’s 50th Champions League goal came after just 49 matches in the competition as the attacker proves once again that he is a top player.
He has now set the record for the fastest player to score 50 goals in the competition. He took the record from Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had scored 50 goals in 62 games.
This means fans who have been buying Champions League tickets to watch the likes of Ronaldo de Lima, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo have never watched a more devastating player like Haaland.
His father was not as prolific as he is, and Haaland himself once famously said he wanted to win the Premier League crown with Leeds United.
Nowadays, the Whites can only dream of watching him play in their stadium, and Haaland is tied to Manchester City until 2035.
It would be interesting to see how many more records he will break by the end of his contract at City, but the Norway star already has a terrific collection of records he has broken.
Some fans who have been buying Manchester City tickets know about some of these records, but which are the most outstanding so far?
It is difficult to choose which Haaland record is the most impressive, but we have curated some of the best so far.

The fastest player to score 50 Champions League goals
The world’s best players all compete in the Champions League, so Haaland came on to compete for records that have been set by the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Gonzalez, Didier Drogba, Robert Lewandowski, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, among others.
Despite the lineup of legends who had been scoring goals before he debuted in the competition, Haaland broke records as soon as he started playing in it.
He scored a first-half hat-trick for RB Salzburg against Genk in his first match in the competition in 2019, setting a record straightaway, and it has stood till now.
He broke numerous other records along the way, including becoming the fastest and youngest player to score 40 goals in the competition after just 35 games and at 23 years 130 days.
Most Premier League goals in one season
Haaland joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and turned them into one of the untouchable teams in the world.
They had been called that prior to that time, but when he arrived, he took them to a new level as City won the Premier League, Champions League, European Super Cup and FA Cup within a year.
He scored 36 goals from 35 matches in the 2022/2023 season, which saw him become the player with the most goals in a single league season, overtaking Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, who had both scored 34 goals.
That year, Haaland scored a hat-trick against Manchester United and became the first and so far only player to score three consecutive hat-tricks in consecutive home games in Premier League history.
Haaland also holds other smaller Premier League records, like being the player to score the most goals in his first season in the competition.
He is also the fastest player to score 50 goals in the competition, having done so in just 48 matches.

Fastest to 100 Premier League goal involvements
Haaland has now scored 90 goals in 101 Premier League games as of the time of writing this article, but in March 2025, he reached 100 G/A in the competition, as he scored a penalty against Brighton.
The 2024/2025 season was a difficult campaign for Man City as they did not win any trophies, and that also affected Haaland.
The striker still managed to score 22 Premier League goals in 31 matches as he begins to show that he is human, after all.
His 100th goal involvement (84 goals and 16 assists) came after 94 games in the competition, with Haaland snatching the record from Alan Shearer, who had reached that level after 100 games in the competition.
He also did so faster than the likes of Mohamed Salah (116 games) and Sergio Aguero (118 games), two key figures in the history of the competition.
All-time highest goalscorer for Norway
Haaland has had an outstanding international career as he works hard to help Norway qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, more than 20 years since they qualified for a major competition.
He and Martin Odegaard are leading the team towards qualification, and he recently scored five goals in one game against Moldova as Norway won the qualifying game 11-1.
It was so easy that they scored themselves an own goal. Haaland’s five goals in that game mean he now has 48 goals in 45 matches for the Norway national team.
However, as far back as October 2024, the City striker became Norway’s all-time record scorer when he bagged his 34th goal for the national team.
This meant he beat Jørgen Juve’s record, which has stood since 1937, an incredibly long time.
Some players struggle to take their club form to the international level, but Haaland is not one of those, and he takes his time with the Norwegian national team seriously.
Records that we would love Haaland to break
The record books in football are very open, which means that Haaland has the chance to break even more records as he continues his career.
The Norwegian star is just 25, and he is going to be a part of the City squad for ten more seasons, so there are many records he can still break.
