Why Arsenal is now ready to win the Premier League title

21/10/2025

Arsenal has started this Premier League season strongly as the Gunners look to ensure that they win the title this term.

Because they were second best in England in three consecutive seasons, the Gunners were expected to win the title last term when Manchester City struggled.

It was theirs to lose and they did lose it to surprise winners, Liverpool, who were not even among the clubs we had expected to be champions.

Liverpool were unstoppable as Arne Slot quickly got the players on his side, but Arsenal knows they have to do what it takes to be champions this term.

In the summer, Liverpool and City had to make changes to their squad after losing some key players, but Arsenal only had to add players to their already brilliant squad to make it stronger.

The Gunners splashed the cash on each position in the squad and now has at least two players in every position on the team.

The men at the Emirates have so much depth that their early season injuries has not affected them as much as it would have in previous campaigns.

Their fans have bought more Arsenal tickets this season because they think this could really be their year because of the signs they have seen.

After watching them in the first eight league games of the season, we cannot help but agree, and there are many reasons why.

Liverpool is struggling

As defending champions, Liverpool is the main favourite to win the EPL crown this season, but the Reds are having a hard time.

They decided to splash the cash and build a Galactico squad in the last transfer window, and it is taking their new stars too long to get used to the team.

Even when Liverpool was winning several games at the start of the season, they were never as brilliant as they were last term.

Many of the stars who helped them sell Premier League tickets last season have left and Mohamed Salah has not clicked with the new attackers at the club.

The Egyptian has made a terrible start to this season, but he is still arguably their best attacker, and Liverpool will lose him in December when he goes to the AFCON to represent Egypt, so it will be hard for the Reds to defend their crown.

If they fail to do so, Arsenal will surely win the title because Man City is also just getting back on their feet and are not in their best shape just yet to be champions again.

They have learnt how to win dirty

Before this season, when Arsenal has a bad day at the office, it often leads to them losing games or at least dropping points.

This is why some teams who are not at their level keep getting points off the Gunners and that has kept them mediocre for a long time.

However, this season seems far different. Mikel Arteta’s dream team has learnt to win at all costs even when they play badly.

This has led them to secure wins against teams like West Ham and Fulham who always cause them problems in the past.

They won both games by a single goal each and it shows that this Arsenal team is truly coming of age and its understanding of the demands of becoming English champions has matured.

In the next few months, the Gunners will face more tricky opponents and if they win those matches, they will hardly be stopped.

Arsenal’s squad depth is the best in England

As we covered earlier, Arsenal now has more than one good player in every position on their team and their squad is truly a dream group for any manager.

In the last few seasons, Arteta has proven that he is a very good manager who just needs a solid squad to work with.

He has got it this term, with injuries no longer expected to disrupt Arsenal’s season as a team.

This is because they have cover for everyone and we have seen it come into play very early in the season.

Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard and Noni Madueke have all suffered injuries since the start of the season, and each time a solid player has stepped up in their place.

Liverpool and City do not have the squad depth that Arsenal possesses at the moment and this is a key advantage in a long title race.

The Gunners have the chance and the players to win more games because they can turn to the bench to break down complex teams and can rest their key men and still not experience a drop in performance from the team.

The players believe they can be champions

Arsenal’s early season form has indicated what their players think about winning the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have some very fine players in their current squad who make them much better than they are even in some games.

However, the key shift we have seen in the Arsenal squad this season is that their current players now believe they can be champions this season.

The squad senses a chance to end their long wait to win the league title and they want to take it and run with it.

Arsenal knows this might be their best chance to win it, and the players look convinced by their manager’s method as well as their own abilities to solve on-field problems and win matches.

This mindset is important in the success of any team in any competition and Arsenal stars have displayed it by refusing to lose games or leaving the pitch without winning matches.

They have not felt pressure since they moved to the top of the league standings and it shows where their mind is, which could be important in the success they will achieve this term.

Mkel Arteta is a superb manager who needs trophies this season

Even though his team has not won a major trophy since 2020, there is no denying that Arteta is a very good manager.

The Spaniard has led Arsenal out of mediocrity and back to being one of the top clubs in the Premier League again.

This explains why the Gunners have maintained their trust in him, and even his players back him to stay.

The remarkable consistency that Arsenal has achieved as a team makes it easy for them to be considered ready to be champions.

Without Arteta on their bench, they would not be at the level they are now, and he deserves so much credit for keeping his team in shape despite adding new stars to the group.

When they become champions, it will be partly because he has done a brilliant job at the Emirates since he has been their manager.
