The Juventus players who must perform well for Luciano Spalletti

07/11/2025

Juventus has named Luciano Spalletti as their latest manager, making him the third coach to manage their squad this year alone.

The Bianconeri used to be a model of consistency, allowing managers to spend a long time on their bench to bring success to the club.

This is one of the reasons they won nine consecutive league crowns before 2021, when Inter Milan stopped their run.

Max Allegri won five of those nine before he was surprisingly sacked in 2019 for the club to bring Maurizio Sarri to town as their manager.

Juve remains keen on ensuring that the team is in good shape when this season ends, and the Bianconeri are working on supporting Spalletti with all he needs to succeed.

The gaffer is much more experienced than the last two coaches they have had in the game, and he certainly can make them a better side.

Juventus tickets remain one of the best to buy because of their passionate fans and quality players who will always give their best for the team.

Thiago Motta made some poor decisions that still affect the team today, and Igor Tudor simply did not have enough time to undo several of those decisions.

He started well and seemed to be on the right track when the team began to score a lot of goals during the Club World Cup.

However, as the season continued, his team began to struggle, and the club had to let him go.

There are things Tudor could have done to achieve success, but his methods seem to bore the players in the final weeks of his tenure on the Juve bench.

The Bianconeri had to find an experienced manager to replace him because their previous two coaches were young and inexperienced.

They were simply not good enough to compete against the other managers in the competition, which is why the team struggled.

Why Spalletti is the ideal manager for Juventus

Serie A is one of the competitions that you need an experienced manager to win, and Juve has often been led by coaches with that qualification.

In their last two appointments, they did not find a manager who was experienced enough and settled for bosses who have not won trophies as managers.

However, the appointment of Spalletti is very different in several ways, and one of the main reasons he is a good fit for them is his experience.

This is one of the poorest Juventus teams we have watched in a long time, and most fans who buy Serie A tickets will agree to that.

An experienced manager like Spalletti can get better performances from them and can also command their respect, so very few of them will be complacent in matches.

Spalletti did well during his spell at Napoli, which ended with him winning the Serie A crown in the 2022/2023 season.

He will want to bring that kind of success to Juve, and if he is given enough time, we can trust him to make that happen.

However, he will need to get the best from some of his players, and who are these stars?

Kenan Yildiz

Yildiz is the poster boy of the current Juve team, and he was made an even more important player for the team under Tudor.

The manager trusted him with a freer role to get the best out of him, and it worked for several months before the entire team started struggling.

Yildiz remains one of the finest players in the world, which explains why some of the top Premier League clubs want to sign the youngster.

If Spalletti can get him to perform at his best consistently, the attacker will make life easy for the manager and win some trophies.

Dusan Vlahovic

Despite running down his contract at the club, there is hardly a better striker than Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus at the moment.

The Serbian frontman has been in fantastic form over the last few months after failing to secure a move away from the club in the summer.

DV9 has been the main striker at the club for much of his time on their books and has outperformed Jonathan David, who joined to replace him.

While Juve can, they can get a lot of goals from him, and if he continues to score, Spalletti’s spell will find success easier than it would ordinarily have been.

Khephren Thuram

Despite being the lesser-known of the three top midfielders that Juve added to their squad last season, Thuram has stood out.

The Frenchman is fantastic, and he could be on the plane when France flies out to North America for the World Cup next year.

He won a place on the team under Tudor and has been arguably Juve’s most reliable midfielder, so they will need him to be in great shape if they are to find success under Spalletti.

Thuram is a focused player, and he is always improving, so he is someone that Spalletti can trust to run his midfield.

Gleison Bremer

If Bremer has not suffered a new injury, Juve may not have lost as many games as they did in the final matches under Tudor.

The Brazilian is one of the world’s best defenders and has been unlucky with injuries since last season, which has also affected the Old Lady.

After a long layoff last term, which ended his season very early, he has suffered another setback.

If he returns and stays fit until the end of the season, Juve will concede very few goals, which is a recipe for success in any competition.

Teun Koopmeiners

Two managers have now failed to get the best out of Teun Koopmeiners, and Spalletti is trying the Dutchman in a new role to see if he will finally prove to be a good signing.

Because Juve always has him on the pitch, his struggles have no doubt affected the team, as he often rarely makes a contribution on the pitch.

If Spalletti can find a solution to his struggles, he will flourish and can lead Juve to some trophies, as he did when he played at Atalanta.

Pierre Kalulu

Kalulu is the second-best defender at Juventus, and he often steps up well in the absence of Bremer to lead at the back.

The Frenchman can also play as a right-back, but he is the best partner for Bremer at the centre, and if he stays fit, he will make an impact on the team under Spalletti.

It is not hard to see that Kalulu is one of the players that Juve simply cannot do without, and he is a player the new manager must win over.

If Spalletti can get him to stay consistent in his system, Juve will become really tough to score against by any opponent.

Jonathan David

Although Vlahovic is in fantastic form, Juventus cannot rely on the Serbian alone, so they need David to start scoring.

The Canadian was one of the best scorers in Europe during his spell at Lille, but he is taking a longer time to settle and start scoring at Juve.

Spalletti worked well with several strikers in the past, and he certainly can get the best out of the striker, which will make it easy for him to succeed as their coach.
